Made these last night - left out the green pepper, reduced the breadcrumbs (used panko) and japanese mayo. Excellent, and they didn't fall apart. Can't thank you enough for posting this recipe.

A recipe that looks promising comes from a cookbook called "Bon Apetit Y'all". We order crabcakes from Timbuktu and have them shipped here to NC, so we know how wonderful they are and what they look like! The recipe calls for sauteeing them in butter, but I'm trying to cook them like we cook the crabcakes from Timbuktu. They look a lot like Timbuktu's cakes, but they are not out of the oven yet. They look promising! I highly recommend this cookbook to you!

I worked in a restaurant that used this recipe in Washington state. It sold out every night. After moving back to Arkansas I use this recipe at home. I have to use the can crab since we are unable to get fresh. When I fix it for my friends, they rave about how good they are. Thank you, Robert Duvall's mother.

Great recipe!! Thank you for sharing this to us as I have been always trying to make the perfect crab cake recipe, but I always have problems with it. Now that I have tried making you crab cake recipe, I finally cooked up a successful crab cake! So delicious, also went really well with my iced coffee Kudos!

My wife and I made this recipe with fresh blue crab and it is the best crab cake we have ever eaten. That is saying a lot since I was born in Maryland and lived my entire life on the East Coast.

Very simple preparation but very complex flavors!

I'm looking for a recipe for a deviled crab that is made like some sort of stuffing (with bread crutons) they sell it locally at Coleman's Fish Market in Wheeling and it is the best! Would love to make it if anyone knows how.

Is it just me or does 4 LBS of crab distributed into 4 crab cakes seem a bit excessive? I reduced the salt by half and divided the entire recipe by 4.

Making this recipe for the 2nd time for dinner guests. These crab cakes are the best we've ever tasted. I love the addition of the scallop mousse. Brilliant. We're going pair this with cedar planked halibut. Didn't much care for the Aioli though. Perhaps it takes a couple of tries to get it right.
